Chester came to live with my family in August of 1999. At the time he was 4 years of age and was already more than half way to his Can Ch. From the moment we got Chester he bonded with me.  For quite awhile after we got Chester he suffered from separation anxiety and he would get very worked up and would whine and pace unless he saw me leave.  Chester no longer worries when I leave, because he knows I will come back.

Chester Moving

Chester is now retired from showing as he never enjoyed showing, although he might return to the ring once in awhile for special occasions.  Chester and I did a fair amount of winning at the few shows we went to, including a Best In Specialty under Judge, Francis Hickey (Ireland) in July 2000.  Chester has sired one litter.  From this litter 2 have obtained their Canadian championship, and 2 others are pointed.

Chester Winning His Best In Specialty

Chester also has a very nice pedigree that is almost entirely made of Sporting Field bloodlines.  His sire is, Am. Can. Fin. BIS DC Sporting Field's Jazz Fest - "Rory" (see below or on pedigree for picture).

Chester's Wins Include:
1997 - Best Puppy At Canadian National Whippet Specialty under respected breeder judge Peggy Newcombe (Pennyworth Whippets)

1999 - Group 2nd From Classes (New Champion!!)

2000 - Group Placements In Limited Showing

2000 - Best In Specialty At The Stampede City Whippet Club Specialty under Francis Hickey (Ireland)

Chester's Head

Chester also enjoys lure coursing.  So far he has only competed in a few trials, but he has done quite well.
